Chuck Roast Crock Pot Recipe!!
Okay, busy parents, this one is for you! As someone who really enjoys cooking, I never really got enthused with the crockpot. It just didn’t seem like actually cooking to me. However, now that I am a mom of a toddler, I have a serious love with crock-pot cooking. I even have a mini that I use for dips! I totally get the crock pot craze. Nothing beats coming home on a work night and having dinner already prepared. What is better than having a full proof recipe that you basically dump in the pot, set it, and come home to a delicious home cooked meal? It allows you to easily budget and typically there are left-overs for either lunch or dinner in the future. I also don’t have that overwhelmed feeling right when I walk in the door. I actually have time to pour myself a glass of wine and drink it! BONUS!
Chuck Roast Crock Pot Recipe Ingredients:
- Chuck Roast
- Packet of dry onion and mushroom soup mix
- 1/3 Cup of Soy Sauce
- 1/2 yellow onion sliced
- 1 bag of snack baby carrots
- Sliced white mushrooms (a handfull)
- Black pepper
Chuck Roast Crock Pot Directions:
This recipe is so easy. Literally, you take all the ingredients and dump them in your crock pot. I use a 6-quart Crock-Pot. Then add your chuck roast (I put the chuck roast in the pot frozen).
After you dump all those ingredients in, add water to the crock pot until it is about half-inch under the chuck roast. Lastly, you lightly crack black pepper on the top of the chuck roast. That is it. Set it on low for 6-7 hours.
I don’t know about you, but after I do this step, I literally walk out the door smiling! Dinner is done and I am just starting the day!
When I get home, all I do is make gravy. I make the gravy by sautéing the remaining mushrooms with butter. Then I add some of the onions and broth from the roast with a little flour. Boom! Done!!
You can serve it with mashed potatoes or baked potatoes. This is very easy and the flavor is Amazing!
